Accessibility Statement
Scout Protective Network is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all scouts, parents, and volunteers, including individuals with disabilities.
1. Conformance Target
We target compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor impairments.
2. Accessibility Measures Implemented
Keyboard Navigation: All links, buttons, inputs, and modals are fully operable via standard keyboard tabs and keys.
Visible Focus Indicators: High-contrast green focus rings are explicitly applied to all interactive elements.
Skip-to-Content Link: A primary skip link is provided at the very top of each page for screen reader and keyboard efficiency.
Color Contrast & Light Theme: Text colors (#334155 and #1E293B) meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against the pure white and warm backgrounds.
Reduced Motion Support: The CSS system honors users’ system preference for reduced motion (`prefers-reduced-motion: reduce`).
Screen Reader Descriptions: Form inputs have descriptive programmatic labels, hints, and error alerts.
3. Feedback & Accommodation Requests
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on the SPN website or require materials in an alternative format, please reach out to our accessibility team at accessibility@spn.org. We prioritize accessibility issues and aim to respond within 48 hours.
