Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026 • Compliant with Child Protection & Data Privacy Standards
1. Commitment to Youth & Member Privacy
Scout Protective Network is committed to safeguarding the privacy of all youth members, adult volunteers, and guardians. We adhere strictly to the principle of data minimization: we collect only information strictly required for event safety, emergency medical preparedness, and membership verification.
2. Protection of Children’s Personal Data (Under 18)
For minor scouts, personal data is collected solely with verified parental or guardian consent. Under no circumstances will a minor’s home address, school, direct phone number, or photographic likeness be publicly disclosed without documented guardian release.
3. Public Verification Sanitization Barrier
Our public membership verification service discloses ONLY: Member ID Code, Full Name, Category, Assigned Chapter, and Expiry Date. Sensitive PII (national identification numbers, birth dates, phone numbers, guardian details, residential addresses) is mathematically withheld from public APIs.
4. Safeguarding Report Confidentiality
Incident disclosures submitted through the Safeguarding Portal are stored in a segregated, role-restricted database table. Case narratives and reporter identities are accessible exclusively to certified Safeguarding Officers and are never exposed in administrative analytics or public activity logs.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
Members and verified guardians have the right to inspect, correct, or request the deletion of their personal information at any time, subject to legal child welfare audit obligations. To request data deletion, contact privacy@spn.org.
